Through education and advocacy, we encourage Juneau residents to make positive changes in their use of energy, both at home and at the local level.
We primarily focus on three important local energy issues:
- Heat pumps: Converting from resistance and oil heat
- CBJ Renewable Energy Strategy: 80% Renewable by 2045
- Utility Regulation: Encouraging leaders and regulators to support renewables
In addtion to these three primary campaigns, we partner with other groups to tackle issues in line with our mission. Juneau is rich with a local citenzry dedicated to increasing the use of renewable energy and to making a difference regarding climate change. 350Juneau (climate action advocacy), JEVA (the Juneau Electric Vehicle Association), JCOS (the Juneau Commission on Sustainability), JEDC (the Juneau Economic Development Council), AELP (Alaska Electric Light and Power), and others are slowly and steadly making a difference here in Alaska’s capital city as we strive to meet the goal’s of the Juneau Renewable Energy Strategy: 80% renewable by 2045.
